Jardin d'Avignon is an original work by Pauline Larouche, a Quebec painter , created using acrylic and mixed media. On a 30 x 10 inch canvas, this horizontal composition transports us to a charming urban scene where architecture, vegetation, and human presence converge in an atmosphere that is both poetic and contemporary.

The scene depicts three figures gathered on a terrace or elevated space, facing an architectural landscape evoking the beauty of Avignon. The buildings, rooftops, and architectural lines are superimposed on areas of bright sky, while flowering plants add touches of color and life to the foreground. Pink and red blossoms contrast with shades of blue, gray, brown, and green, creating a rich and dynamic composition.

The material and textural effects characteristic of Pauline Larouche's work give the surface a tactile dimension. The visible lines, the layering of colors, and the textured accents contribute to an impression of movement and give the work a decidedly contemporary character.

Jardin d'Avignon evokes travel, discovery, encounters, and those moments when we take the time to look at a landscape differently. Its panoramic form is particularly suited to spaces where a horizontal artwork can become a focal point.
