Sentier du Plateau is an original work by Pauline Larouche , a Quebec painter, created using acrylic mixed media with collage of art papers on an 8 x 8 inch gallery canvas. Inspired by the beauty of the winter landscapes of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, this creation transports the viewer to the heart of Mont Édouard , where outdoor enthusiasts come to enjoy the pleasures of winter.
In this peaceful scene, snowshoers take a break after climbing the trail that leads almost to the summit. From this natural vantage point, they watch the skiers descending the slopes, while the snow-covered mountains are adorned with the changing colors of the winter sky. This suspended moment evokes silence, the reward of effort, and the beauty of the Quebec landscape.
As in many of her creations, Pauline Larouche begins her process with a collage of art papers . The printed words, patterns, and colors integrated into the composition remain visible thanks to numerous thin layers of transparent acrylic. This technique adds depth, texture, and light, inviting the viewer to continually discover new details.
The shades of purple, turquoise, gold, white, and pink create a warm atmosphere despite the abundant snow. The delicately drawn trees contrast with the majestic mountains and evoke the richness of our Nordic landscapes.
This small artwork is ideal for lovers of nature, snowshoeing, skiing, and Quebec landscapes. It will bring a contemporary, luminous, and soothing touch to any interior.
